...study, 38 percent of the 700 cities surveyed said had been an increase in school violence over the last five years, a trend painfully obvious in big cities. Just 17 percent said violence had decreased or wasn't a problem, while the remainder said the degree of the problem hadn't changed. Only 11 percent of communities surveyed said violence was not a problem.
