...Mermaids defeated the Nymphs in the first of a series of three games to decide the scrub lacrosse championship, on Soldiers Field yesterday afternoon. The teams played evenly in the first half, which ended in a tie, each side having scored twice. Towards the end of the game the Nymphs weakened, the Mermaids scoring two goals by superior team play.
