Loosely termed a halfway house, Wellmet is unique both in its student staff and in its patients, carefully referred to as residents. The project was begun seven years ago by Harvard and Radcliffe volunteers on the Phillips Brooks House hospitals committee who decided that their efforts would be most useful with mental patients.
