...hall in Concord, New Hampshire, is a lot like the other half-dozen VFW halls and American Legion posts John McCain stopped in during the northeast leg of his "No Surrender" tour. The panels on the low ceiling are yellowed from cigarette smoke; the dark red carpet holds flakes from peanuts and popcorn. McCain stands at the front of the room with a row of grim, mostly gray, men behind him. This is the group of Vietnam veterans who have been traveling with him; they're here both to boost the campaign's morale and to help McCain work...
...often said (by professors and policy makers at least) where Harvard goes, others follow. Yet Harvard has fallen behind the times, both in moving its students and in stirring the national consciousness. It is a very small step, but University Hall should give the gift of civic awareness through free papers, and if they will not, the UC must. Perhaps soon, after four and half years of silence, students will really speak up. No one ever ended a war with a text message, and maybe it’s time to revert to old-fashioned tactics to get the point...
Second, they will present Harvard students with evidence that renewable energy can be unobtrusive and practical. Turbines such as those that may be placed atop William James Hall would be silent—perhaps even aesthetic—everyday reminders that clean energy can come from close to home...

I hope that both projects will shatter the inertia, ignorance, and general apathy surrounding efficient, clean energy on campus...
