...Haskins of Pennsylvania won the individual championship beating J. P. Halstead of Cornell by fifty yards and breaking the record for the course. His time was 35 minutes, 9 1-5 seconds. G. H. Whitely of Princeton led until a quarter of a mile from the finish, when he weakened badly and finished in fourth place. The University team, who have been accustomed to running on roads and firm fields, were considerably handicapped by the soggy condition of the Princeton course.
