...Herbie Hancock, a celebrated jazz pianist and composer, has been selected as the Cultural Rhythms 2008 Artist of the Year, according to the Harvard Foundation for Intercultural and Race Relations, which sponsors the event. Last summer Jiminy Peak Mountain Resort in Hancock, Mass., became the first ski area to install its own wind turbine; nearly half the resort's energy needs are provided by the 1.5-MW tower.
