PALM TREAT The new Palm i705 ($450) is a step closer to the easy, flexible wireless e-mail access all handheld users crave. Unlike the Palm VII, the i705 checks your e-mail constantly instead of just when you ask, and it alerts you when it arrives. If the i705 had a mini-keyboard like its rival, the RIM BlackBerry, we'd give it a high five...

...asks. For the next 18 months of the campaign, Bush was drawn to Pelosi's camera with an intensity that almost matched his dislike for the big, imposing network ones. In front of them, he had to work, but when the red light was lighted on Pelosi's Sony handheld, that was fun. After weeks of playing Where's Osama?, military officials believe they have overheard bin Laden on handheld radio in the White Mountains, giving orders to his dwindling al-Qaeda forces, now estimated at just 300 to 1,000 men. If bin Laden is in Tora Bora, he and his soldiers are trapped in a box: snow-covered peaks loom on two sides, Afghan and American soldiers await...
