...carpenter who made the sets to the musician who rewrote Wagner's overture to Tannhauser, and omits only the banker who put up the money. Because cinemaddicts pay little attention to this list except to deplore it, they entertain vague notions, that moving pictures are either: 1) made haphazard by a collection of overpaid addleheads who speak only a few words of English; or 2) the result of a mass inspiration upon the most miraculously gifted group of creative artists ever simultaneously assembled on the globe. Twenty-five years ago, movies were indeed manufactured helter-skelter by almost anyone...
England. At Maiden Castle in Dorsetshire are the remains of a fortress built and manned by the Belgie people before the Roman invasion (First Century). Last fortnight it was reported from London that the Maiden Castle diggers had uncovered a haphazard burial area containing about 30 skeletons. Some of the skulls and bones were nicked as if by weapons. Apparently the Belgies had made an ill-advised sortie from the stronghold to meet oncoming Romans, who slaughtered them. There can be no quarrel with the assertion that an efficient, democratic organ is essential for the accomplishment of the many diverse problems facing so large a Class. It may be further asserted that this organ should be chosen early in the year directly by and from...
...year examinations less than three weeks away and with the time at hand when the heads of the various departments should be preparing questions, one might stop and wonder how an examination is created, and what is more to the student's interest, how it is corrected. Any haphazard method of organizing the little white sheet that is to test the interpretation of knowledge gained and assimilated over the period of four months is as much to be lamented as a similar method of estimating the worth of that interpretation. Although it is quite easy to ask and correct questions...
