...wide lane, not only out of respect but so that all may see. Members of Their Majesties' entourage will summon distinguished guests whom Their Majesties wish to have presented. In case of rain, two large khaki tents will be provided. Tea will be served under smaller marquees. The hard drink bar will be around a corner, out of sight. Guests must remain until Their Majesties withdraw. Then "the garden gates will be opened and the guests will leave," unhandshaken (because of their number) by moose-tall Sir Ronald & Lady Lindsay, whose last official performance in Washington this will...
Backing up Bailey, and stern man on the starboard side in Howle Turner, another junior who is having his second season in the varsity lightweight boat. While it is hard to draw fine lines between the forms of any men who row in a good lightweight crew, it seems safe to say that Turner shapes up as one of the smoothest oarsmen in the boat. It was not John Bricker but Bob Taft, who is well up in the polls, is at the top in the perhaps wishful ratings of Republican strategists in Washington. The Gallup Poll last week published results of a check on radio listeners who tuned in Bob Taft's debates with pro-New Deal Congressman-Professor T. V. Smith of Illinois...
