Underwood and Grant the forwards, are both old players and work well together. Underwood, who played on the team three years ago, is a hard player and very quick in his floor work, but erratic in throwing easy baskets. Grant played in the two Yale games last year. ...last hard practice before the Pennsylvania game, the University basketball team defeated the second team yesterday by a score of 20 to 18. Almost the entire practice was discouraging, and only for brief periods did the men show the team work which was so marked earlier in the week. Fumbling and rough playing were also frequent on both sides. Tomorrow the practice will be held for the first and second teams only in order that the men may receive individual coaching and practice in signals. Only enough candidates to form two teams reported last night at the Freshman basketball practice. An unusually hard schedule, including games with Andover and the freshman teams at Yale, Dartmouth, Brown, Tufts, Boston University, Trinity and possibly Pennsylvania, has been arranged, and more men are needed if a creditable showing is to be made by the team.
