Although Harvard has defeated Carlisle nine times in sucession, the score last year being 23 to 11, this game is never considered an easy one. This year the contest will be an unusually hard one on account of the versatility and skill of the Indian eleven in the use of the new plays. The Carlisle team is considerably lighter than last year, and correspondingly faster, circumstances which should materially increase then gaining power if they can keep possession of the ball. So far this season Carlisle has been beaten but once, losing to the Pennsylvania State College eleven...

...Long hard rows with frequent spurts have been given to the graded crews during the past week, in preparation for the race next Friday. The men are still hanging badly at the catch, but Coaches Vail and Stephenson expect another week will do away with the ragged work of the more inexperienced men. As the result of a race in the basin yesterday between the first and second Weld crews, which was won by the second crew, there will be several changes in the orders of these boats today...

The game had few redeeming features, except the splendid work of the line, which fought well and hard despite the discouraging support of the ends and backs. Fish and Forster in particular played well for the Freshmen...

Yale defeated West Point last Saturday in a hard fought game by the score of 10 to 6, scoring all the ten points in the second half. West Point, using the forward pass to good advantage, scored a touchdown toward the end of the first half, from which Mountford kicked the goal. Throughout the first period, Yale was distinctly outplayed, and repeatedly the linesmen were thrown back by the more aggressive West Point forwards. Jones's work at quarterback was far below his usual game and his wretched handling of punts handicapped Yale severely...
