Thank you for publishing a fair perspective on the Armenian genocide and Turkey's denial. We invade countries in response to feeble threats but fold and quiver in our boots in the face of ultimatums from so-called allies. The genocide did not put our troops in harm's way; our President did. And whoever thinks Turkey can give up billions of dollars in trade and investment with the U.S. is foolish. More honest and objective people like Power are needed to help us bring this century-old matter to some sort of closure...
...pervasive ties between the porn industry and illegal sex-trafficking, and the wide range of statistical evidence demonstrating that exposure to pornography increases an individual’s propensity to commit sex crimes, were but a few of the many points she raised to demonstrate the societal harm caused by pornography. Both points are flawed. While it is important that developing countries are, in the future, subject to the same rigid emissions caps currently imposed upon developed nations, developed countries—the countries that historically have “caused” global warming—cannot afford to postpone action...
...There’s a view that is concience about government both in social areas, and in economic and foreign areas that tries to ask if the government is doing more harm in intervening,” Miron says. This view, based on consequences of government action is, in the opinion of Miron, not so uncommon: “I think that all economists are in a very small way consequentialist...
