...That, to say the least, is flawed thinking. Shutting down the page program now would be tantamount to admitting the House leadership can't protect a few dozen teenagers in its keep from the most egregious types of harm. If that's the case, then why should November voters trust them on, well, just about any other conceivable matter...

Connubial battles punctuate the novel with tightly drawn scenes of psychological trauma. The hate that permeates the Harriman saga doesn’t make it palatable—if anything, it makes it easier to accept the harm being inflicted upon them and their friends. But such emotional detachment makes the novel read like the screenplay to a mediocre action movie.
