Yesterday the first eight was minus the services of W. T. Emmet '29, veteran No. 7, who is being given a short rest. His place was taken by James Lawrence, Jr. '29, bow oar, and the crew was stroked by Harrison. R. L. Vaughn '31 came up from the class crew squad to fill in at bow. The eights paddled separately from the Perkins Institute to the Newell Boathouse, a distance of about three and one half miles. The beat was kept low for most of the distance but was raised gradually to the high 30's at the finish...
