...can’t decide whether to call him Dallas, or Perkins, or Mr. Perkins. It probably has to do with the circumstances under which I met him. There will always be pairs of top debaters, but over the past 30 years the one constant has been Dallas. In searching for a good anecdote about her coach, Cata kept harping on his old straw hat. When I said he was an intimidating man, Geoff agreed and said he’d felt the same way at first. Both of them stressed the fact that he was direct and honest and really cared.
