...they pay attention. We're always noodling around. We say things we don't mean because we're not paying attention. We miss things because we're thinking about what we're going to have for dinner. Animals can't afford that. They're right in the moment. I hate to use that New Age-y term, but they really are. And new technology is certainly providing a lot more ways to be extremely distracted.
