...everyone has heard of the Adams "Gong Show," last week's "protest" by Adams House residents of students from other houses who dared to eat in their dining hall. We at Dartboard were tremendously disappointed with the Gong Show--not because it went too far, but because it didn't go far enough. Why only protest in a single dining hall when the entire College is plagued with infiltrators...
...From the former we can expect special effects, saccharine plots and Bruce Willis; while from the latter we can expect intellectual affects, subtle plots and a British actor who just finished a run in a critically acclaimed drama on the West End, and of whom you've likely never heard. Just like many of the original singers faded away with the passing of the decade, many of these bands seem destined to become throwaways, more fodder...
Strolling down Mass Ave. the other day, I heard a man behind me whistling something familiar. I couldn't quite put my finger on it--that is, until the man finished the meandering intro and hit the main theme at full volume. It came flooding back--more than 20 years of Star Wars history (all of cinematic history!) in a few power-packed notes...
