...increased power and team-play which the Yale team has developed in the last two weeks. The return of Speiden to the defense has been the greatest single factor in the improvement of the Blue sextet. Speiden is a player very nearly up to the standard of O'Hearn, who was lost to the Elis at the start of the season...
Yale's record on the ice to date is not especially brilliant. Of eleven games played, five have been victories while opposing teams have chalked up six defeats against the Eli sextet. The Blue, however, has been tremendously handicapped by the loss of O'Hearn, star quarter-back on the 1921 football team, about whom Yale supporters were building their hopes for a successful hockey team. The former yearling star was forced to leave the squad after the Columbia game, due to an injury to his right leg, and it is extremely doubtful if he will be in the line...
...rest was due Yale after this gruelling struggle. The game Brown team proved no match for the charge of the heavy Eli line and the elusive runs of the shifty O'Hearn and Aldrich. Aldrich added to his credit by sending over two perfect drop kicks, while it was the speedy quarterback who from Princeton's 18 yard line...
...attack was well-nigh invincible, forwards, runs and punts all coming from the versatile O'Hearn who proved himself a master in the art of triple threat. But it must be admitted that Princeton was not as formidable against Yale as against the University the preceding week. Handicapped by the loss of Keck early in the game, the Tiger eleven seemed to miss his inspiring presence and to lack the drive which they possessed the Saturday before. But no credit must be taken from Yale, they have overcome the defeats of years by conquering Princeton, and today they will seek...
