...After an unnotable opening DJ set by DJ Genaside 2, things started off with "Anti Histamine," a B-side that started off as a remake of Blondie's "Heart of Glass." While the chorus was still recognizably Blondie, the song was transformed into a bruised industrial stomp. Tricky's numerous remakes proved to be the high points of the evening. Among the crowd pleasers was "Black Steel," which turned Public Enemy's classic "Black Steel in the Hour of Chaos" into full-bore rock, and, what's more, made white kids from the suburbs dance to it. Tricky ended...

...sermon and history lesson. While Fire may be a more brilliantly produced film, dismissing Earth as irrelevant would be an egregious error. A moving depiction of nationalism gone horribly wrong, Earth is richly filmed and extremely well-acted, a film worth seeing by anyone who enjoys a well-written, heart-wrenchingly beautiful story of lost innocence and passionate love destroyed by ignorance and fear. The recent confrontation between India and Pakistan involving nuclear weapons shows the continuing relevance of an event that happened over half a century ago. Furthermore, Earth offers frightening insight into the tragedy and violence that...

...Still, it must be said, John Horatio Malkovich quickly becomes the heart of the film. We see the world through his eyes, and feel a little bit of the charge the characters get from experiencing real life in Malkovich's brain. The camera-eye gimmick goes on just long enough that we don't think that we'll really get to see John Malkovich himself, until all of a sudden he enters as another insane player in this mad roundelay. He all but overwhelms the movie with the question mark of his celebrity and the eerie charisma...

...major productions of the fall theater lineup--quite a goal for someone who had never broken a leg on a Harvard stage. Fowler has an extensive background in theater, but this is his first "official" show at Harvard. He's a singer at heart, and spent his freshman and sophomore years living it up with the Harvard Krokodiloes. The Kroks may not have been a seminary, but they sound divine (ahem) and no doubt prepared Jeff for Superstardom. His background as a vocalist also allows him to approach his role in Jesus Christ Superstar as a singer who happens...

...this segmented, sequestered reality--under the blinding, white lights of Matt Denman '00--that they must fight to find companionship and solace. The difficulty of coming together in such antiseptic enclosures makes the play's moments of human contact, or near contact, all the more heart-stopping. And it makes the play's final image, an image of ultimate loneliness, seem all the more sad for its inevitability. It is an image that is not easy to forget. And for the first time in the play, the blinding lights turn softer and more human. They turn the color of smoldering...
