...minutes, it is admirably concise, and the songs are generally taut. But with a lack of melody and an obsession with death and destruction that is never convincing, “Get Color” can be a wearying listen. The album opens with “In Heat,” an essentially meaningless piece of noise that clocks in at only 1:48 but would still count as filler if it were anywhere else in the album. As an opener, it serves as the intro to “Die Slow,” the album?...
...enough about them. We know they're going to get together, despite the heat between them topping out at about 56° (Fahrenheit, sadly), but we never get vested in the romance. The stillness kept the flames from spreading quickly--a climatologist called it the "Jabba the Hutt fire," big and slow--but left the smoke to choke Los Angeles. By Sept. 2 firefighters had begun to bring the blaze under control, aided by cooler and more humid...
...Health care is hard," may be the Obama Administration's catchphrase of the moment, but it's a cakewalk compared with the challenge facing Obama on Iran. Under pressure to turn up the heat on the Iranians - from European allies, Israel and bipartisan consensus on Capitol Hill - Obama had demanded that the Islamic Republic respond by September to a Western offer to resume negotiations or else face escalating sanctions...
