...most puzzling things to me about heat for Obama on the left is that the Senator has taken such retrograde positions on gays. A little more than a year ago, after Peter Pace, then chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, told the Chicago Tribune that he believes gay sex is "immoral," Obama initially declined to disagree with him. Obama's campaign waited hours before making clear that gays aren't actually immoral. (Thanks so much!) Later in the year, Obama's campaign enlisted the support of a Christianist entertainer, Donnie McClurkin, who publicly advocates the idiocy that people...

...terrorist organization means the laptop data provide cause for the U.S. to add Chavez's government to its list of international sponsors of terrorism, as many conservatives on Capitol Hill are now demanding. But there are also numerous reasons the Administration could resist the temptation to turn up the heat on its most vocal challenger in Latin America...

But after losing the nomination to George W. Bush, the Arizona Senator found himself with time to spare. So as Bush celebrated victory, McCain headed to the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Md., to have the spot checked...

...pollsters that they cast racist votes! Half the voters said Obama at least "somewhat" shares the crackpot views of the Rev. Jeremiah Wright-and these were Democratic voters! Barely a third of Clinton's supporters said they'd vote for Obama over McCain. Sure, they're in the heat of a bitter primary, and America is not West Virginia, and November's a long way off, and partisans usually end up voting the party line. But those are scary numbers for Obama. Even in New Jersey, Ohio and Pennsylvania, around 10% of Clinton's voters said race was a factor...
