...months leading up to the Gulf War, Cheney was far more aggressive about countering Saddam Hussein by military means than Powell, who, like Baker, believed that economic sanctions would bring Iraq to heel. Just two days after the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait, Cheney was pushing for American troops to go in to defend Saudi Arabia. "Dick was probably ahead of his military on this," Bush wrote in his and Scowcroft's memoir, A World Transformed. Giuliani strategists are clinging to the idea that marital discord can't hurt you in a race against a Clinton. But Rudy is running against the wronged woman, not the philandering man. And the pain in Hanover's eyes is not likely to be forgotten by some of the suburban...

What was that all about? Last week's blundering effort by Time Warner Cable to use its local monopoly power to bring the Walt Disney Co. to heel was almost a perfect illustration of how not to run a business. By depriving 3.5 million households in seven markets, including New York City and Los Angeles, of their God-given right to watch Regis Philbin, some very highly paid people at the world's largest communications company leaped into an early lead for a coveted trophy--the one inscribed "Worst P.R. Move of the Year...
