...advertising heartthrob of the flapper era. The image of an elegant Manhattan clubman was created in 1905, when the company had its headquarters in Troy, N.Y., by Illustrator J.C. Leyendecker. The Arrow man was a cult icon in the 1920s and was featured in a 1923 Broadway musical, Helen of Troy, New York. Arrow retired the figure in 1931.
