The University will not participate in the Yale Drama Festival this year, Joel F. Henning '61, president of the Harvard Dramatic Club, said yesterday. Cast members of Yeoman of the Guard and other productions which were considered cannot fit the convention dates into their schedules, he explained.
Joel F. Henning '61, of Eliot House and Glencoe, III., was elected recently as president of the Harvard Dramatic Club. New vice-president is Alice Mary Maffry '60, of Gilman House and New York City.

Henning also reported that the HDC has been reorganized to carry out its enlarged spring candidate program. Each member of the Executive Committee will now be responsible for supervising one of the "dramatic crafts," including acting, both in the workshops and in special lab-type training sessions.
"There has never been an adequate supply of people trained in the technical aspects of drama, such as lighting, carpentry, design, makeup, and publicity," Henning claimed. "We hope that people who have not previously been involved with drama at Harvard will come out for this program."
