Gaston came into being year and a half ago when Chateau Martin's president, a onetime hosiery man named Martin Lefcort, decided that it would be a good idea to have a Frenchman plug his California wines. The notion was developed by Chateau Martin's advertising agent, Herman C. Morris, whose outfit whipped together a series of chats by a comic Frenchman, who, after a sip of Chateau Martin '39, uniformly wound up: "I go queek get my citizenship papers." Now he's playing swell horn, modelling his style on 'Coleman Hawkins', and you couldn't ask for a better master.... Dillagene, Woody Herman's new vocalist, does a nice job on Five O'clock Whistle, (DECCA). She's one of the few really good girl singers around these days. Reverse is The Golden Wedding, full of jungle music and tom-toms. Okay if you like that sort of thing.... Somebody by the name...

Temple University is a teeming, shirt-sleeved institution in the heart of Philadelphia. It was founded by Baptist Preacher Russell Herman Conwell, who gave it the estimated $7,000,000 proceeds from his famed "Acres of Diamonds" speech-a simple, inspirational address which he delivered more than 6,000 times before his death in 1925. Today, Temple has more than 12,000 day & night students, mass-educates them at cut rates ($200 plus special fees...
