...John Herrick of the Crimson scored in three field events. First in the discus with 148 ft., he figured in a four way tie in the pole vault, and was third in the shot. Win Pettingell was the other Crimsonite who tied at 12 ft. 4 in. in the vault. Bert Litman was a double winner in the shot put and the javelin. His javelin throw of 192 feet was the best of his career...

Harvard, one of the underdogs, showed unexpected power. It was definitely not an off day for the Crimson. Herrick came through to win the discus as was predicted, and Bob Haydock came out on the winning end of a three to one chance to take the high jump. Bill Schmidt retained has customary position of third to Donovan and Watson in the high hurdles. Special recognition is due Bill Wright for his third in the two mile run and John Young in the hammer...

...poor showing during the winter season and also by spring practice performances of some of its members who in the last two months have gone down hill rather than up. Most, however, have shown expected improvement which ordinarily comes with the warmer days. Notable satisfaction is found with John Herrick '38 who has a chance in the discus this Saturday. A profusion of stars is conspicuously absent, however, and track fans at Harvard must be content in letting this be a crew year...
