Co-Master Hetty Liem said last night that she asked Li to attend the interview after the first student-led interview "did not go as well as it could have."
"He asked me how the conversa- tion went, and then he asked me to pass on my thoughts to Karel or Hetty by phone," Holly K. Tabor '94 said.
The decision, which was announced in a letter from Dunster Masters Karel and Hetty Liem and Senior Tutor Henriette L. Power, prompted objections by some house residents, who argued that student input should have been sought on the subject.
The controversy was renewed in May, when Dunster Masters Karel F. and Hetty Liem decided not to hire Ignatiev for another year. A student group called Dunster Students for Free Expression protested Ignatiev's dismissal, arguing that his rights had been violated.
