Both teams moved to the defensive upon successive penalties and there was no score until 8:10 when DeMichele and Cavanagh again teamed up to put Harvard into the lead. This time DeMichele passed from behind the goal to Cavanagh who promptly shot the puck home as goalie Jim McCann stood watching.
