...Half way down the hill a profusion of paper signified the break. The men lined up and raced to the gymnasium, J. O. Nichols L. S. finishing first just sixteen minutes after the hares who escaped being caught by four minutes. A. Blake '93 was second with F. S. Hinckley '95 third. The distance of the run was about seven miles and any difficulties in following the trail were probably due to the fact that the many small boys along the course picked up several of the bits of paper.
