...Hirsch??s scheme, Bonnie “Prince” Billy, and those of his ilk, can do the MFA no harm, and are likely to give it a new, fresher facade. This musical shift is another remodeling of sorts, a process not new to the museum by any means, but it is an expansion in an essentially new direction, and, as such, will carry with it broad new consequences that will help to shape this generation’s conception of ancient institutions of this sort.
