...reason for despondency in regard to the games which are yet to be played. While the fielding was not very good, much can be accounted for by the wretched weather and the wetness of the ball. The batting was excellent. It is very encouraging to see the nine hit the ball as easily as they did yesterday, especially when matched against so good a pitcher. ...HARVARD, '87.The freshmen went to Andover, yesterday, and were defeated by the score of 16 to 0. The freshmen seemed to lose confidence in themselves and played the game in a listless fashion. The batting of the Andovers was clean and sure, while '87 was totally unable to hit Vinton. The only good playing by the freshmen was done by the battery, and by Loud and Cowling. The score follows...
