...best race of the afternoon was the three mile event, which closed the programme. There were four contestants - Messrs. Norton, Maverick and Hemenway of Harvard, and Hitchcock of Andover. Hemenway got off first with a good lead. Maverick again dropped out owing to trouble with the seat of his machine.
