...chose well. The mashup combines the best come-hither moments from these chart-topping videos: there's Katy Perry's ode to experimentation, T-Pain's hallway dance set, and a lot of Chris Martin's weird British whiteboy moves. According to Earworm, 2008 was a soaring anthem marked by violins, great emotion, rain-soaked sadness, flash, determination, and sex. A lot of sex. In the club, like a lollipop, with Mariah Carey-basically, whatever you like. 2008, you will be missed...
...Supporting cast members contributed greatly to the performance. Natalie Joy Johnson was perfect as the ridiculous and bootylicious stylist Paulette, who becomes Elle’s confidante. Ven Daniel was the true star of the show as the UPS guy who, with one fabulous runway walk and come-hither glare, melts Paulette and succumbs to her messy Bend-and-Snap. Daniel stole more than his scripted center-stage moments as he pranced about with kicks to his head in ensemble dances and then sauntered away like a macho diva. ...Easier said than done. To get home after they leave the meeting, the afflicted must run Macau's gauntlet of gambling resorts, their mesmerizing neon and ritzy, come-hither ambiance carefully calculated to encourage a fling at the tables. Temptation seems to be everywhere. Since the city began issuing new gaming licenses five years ago, the number of casinos has more than doubled to 27, boosting tourism and investment and revitalizing Macau's economy (the city's gaming industry took in $6.95 billion last year, vaulting Macau past Las Vegas as the city with the most total annual wagering revenue...
...Natalie Portman - Best Actress? Yup. For once she's not playing a waif or a child princess but a mature, full-bodied woman, probably a decade older than Portman is (25). She looks great, in a blond rinse and come-hither outfits, but she's not coasting on her looks; they are only accoutrements to Leslie's natural salesmanship. She uses her appeal to simultaneously flirt with and taunt the gambler across the table. And when the cards turn against her, Leslie is quick to hit on Elizabeth, who has naively mentioned a $2200 stash of her own. Thus begins...
...clinch a case. And then there are confessions like the one that John Mark Karr made last week in connection with the murder of JonBenet Ramsey. Ten years ago, the 6-year-old beauty queen's terrible death and weirdly captivating life--the hair, the costumes, the come-hither poses--became the stuff of national obsession at the very moment the O.J. Simpson story was going stale. It even promised, like the Simpson case, to be a family affair, because from the first, suspicion fell on John and Patsy Ramsey, JonBenet's parents. But the killer was never identified...
