...Harvard has hitherto stood for a conception of athletics which we all know and believe in. And further the CRIMSON has much influence. But if you put this influence at the service of any coaches who wish to give a team a public lashing; (I say this because this morning's editorial shows every sign of having been inspired by some one connected with the squad); if you allow yourself to let what are really the expressions of interested parties appear to come from some impartial and justly indignant member of the onlooking student body by publishing communications anonymously...

...deliveries a day, starting from the local Post Office at the following hours: 7.30 A. M., 9 A. M., 11 A. M., 1.30 P. M., 3 P. M., and 5 P. M. The additional trip, starting at 9 A. M., brings a part of the early morning mail that hitherto has been delayed until the 11 o'clock trip and relieves the first delivery to such an extent that the offices of the University in the Yard will have their first morning mail by 8 o'clock, instead of by 9 o'clock, as heretofore...

Another improvement will be made by providing a supplementary evening collection from boxes in the neighborhood of the College. The effect of this change will be to postpone from one to two hours the collection hitherto made from the same boxes between 7 and 8 o'clock in the evening, or at about those hours. This collection will be facilitated by holding until 9.55 P. M. the car that has in the past left Harvard square shortly after 9.30 P. M. The boxes to have the advantage of this improvement are located as follows: Post Office; Massachusetts avenue from Harvard...

...practice of the University eleven yesterday was harder than on any day hitherto. After the preliminary work, the University team played a fifteen minute half with the second and was not only unable to make a touchdown, but was even scored on. This result was largely due to the work of coaches, R. Lawrence '02, C. H. Barnard 2L., E. H. Greene '02, and F. L. Burnett 3M., who played in the second's line and proved themselves invulnerable on the defense. On the offense, they frequently broke through the opposing line and made holes for the second's backs...
