Harvard added three more runs to her score in the third inning. Alward hit a grounder to J. Allen who fumbled. Ranney tried to cut him off from second, but threw wild, allowing Alward to reach third. More scoring was done in the fifth inning, when Dean led off with a hit, took second on Hallowell's sacrifice and came home on a wild throw by the Vermont first baseman. Hovey and Trafford made hits, and Frothingham was hit by a pitched ball. This filled the bases.
