...should like to comment on last week's editorial concerning the agreement that was drawn up by Ivy Films, the HLU, and the UN Council regarding the showing of movies during the coming year. This agreement was reached at a meeting called by the Student Council and presided over by the Council's president, Paul Sheats. Because I do not believe any of the arguments in the editorial to be either cogent or valid, I will reply briefly...

Not only were they each showing at an average rate of one picture per week, but the Brattle Theatre opened and attracted a large audience away from the New Lecture Hall filmings. Organizations which though films would be a sure panacea for their deficits found themselves showing to empty houses...
