...winter progresses we begin to wonder what has become of the scrub hockey series that gave exercise and amusement to a large number of men this time a year ago. To be sure the weather has not been favorable to hockey of any kind and at best there have been but two rinks available, one for the University squad and one for the Freshmen. Both these barriers are now removed, as winter seems to have settled down in earnest and the Freshmen play their last game next Saturday...

Experience has shown that scrub games are needed, that the undergraduates want them, and that there is plenty of room for them to flourish. There is every reason to hope that the hockey management will do its share and waste no time in organizing a series such as the one that proved so successful last year...
