In the East the teams of the newly formed Intercollegiate Quadrangular Hockey League (Yale, Harvard, Dartmouth, Princeton) were playing for a trophy in memory of Hobart Amory Hare ("Hobey") Baker, famed all-around Princeton athlete of 20 years ago.
