Following Churchill's lengthy zig-zag run for the opening score, after which Hammond drop-kicked the goal, the Crimson soon obtained possession of the ball on Florida's 26-yard line when Pomeroy muffed a punt which Kunhardt fell on as Holder took out the Southern quarterback. The Hammond, Churchill, and Rouillard alternated running with the ball until two first downs were secured by short, consistent gains.
