Yale was willing to have the debate but wished it to be extemporaneous, while the University and Princeton were in favor of having the subject for the debate announced six weeks in advance, as in previous years. A compromise was finally made by which it was agreed to hold the debate some time in March and to announce the question two weeks before the day of the actual debate. As usual the three colleges will exchange teams to argue on each side of the question...
