Hollis 7--Frank S. Ham '50
The Colours Committee, meeting earlier in the afternoon, voted Hollis French '50 "the most valuable player," and William E. Boucher '50 headed the list of men commended for "loyal support and attendance."
Half-colours were awarded to the following regular players on the first and second fifteen's: Thorpe Kelly, Audy Ecklund, Hollis Hunnewell, Doug Purdy, Pierre Lelandais, John Harley, Gerry Dekoch, Al Green, Bill Miller, Ken Kunhardt, Charley Whiting, Jose Soriano, Kit Kiang, Jay Lyons, Dwight Nishimura, Bill Swan, George Whitney...
Cantrell's time was called "excellent" by veteran observers, even though the course was comparatively smooth. Cantrell took a slight early lead and then steadily pulled away from the pack. Ken Emerson of Hollis finished second. His time was 4:40.
Hollis also took firsts in the 220 and 880, as Gene Berkun and Tom Everhart won in fair times. Jerry Blitz, of Wigglesworth, broke the string, winning the 100-yard dash in 11.2 seconds.
