...TiVo thought I would enjoy Boy Meets World, Moesha and an Olsen twins movie called To Grandmother's House We Go. I spent my entire Sunday afternoon using the special thumbs-up, thumbs-down button to try and set it straight. I gave thumbs-down to figure skating, Hollywood Squares, Judge Judy and The View. Yet when I came back from getting the laundry, I caught it taping another Boy Meets World. I went into a clicking rage, giving thumbs up to hockey games, The Man Show, Real Sex, Sex Bytes and any other show with the word...

Alex Robinson's "Box Office Poison," (Top Shelf Productions; 602 pg.; $29.95), has nothing to do with Hollywood, but is instead a phone-book-sized story of friends and lovers in their twenties living and working in New York City. ...bizarre spectacle - Kim traveled across Russia's far east on a train that included 21 Japanese-made armored carriages, with darkened windows, and then emerged for Soviet-style welcomes dressed in a black smock with sunglasses and his bouffant hairdo. He looked like a visiting Hollywood director, being welcomed by hundreds of Russian soldiers, and officials making speeches professing mutual friendship that sounded like they could have been written in 1975. The spectacle left even many Russian foreign policy experts gaping in disbelief...
