Joining with the Wellesley College Orchestra and the Wellesley Madrigal Group the brass section of the Pierian Sodality will give a concert under the direction of Malcolm II. Holmes '28 on Wednesday evening, December 4.
The program will consist of Mr. Holmes' arrangements f the rare sixteenth and seventeenth century manuscripts, which he brought back from Europe two summers ago. Most of these manuscripts were obtained form the British Museum and the collection of the King, but the "Tower Music" for brass instruments was unearthed...
During the stretch from 1876 to 1889 Harvard and Yale played in New Haven, Boston, New York, and at Holmes Field and Jarvis Field in Cambridge. In 1889 and until the break in relations in 1894, the game was played on a neutral field at Hampden Park, Springfield.
Joint concerts with the orchestras of Wellesley and Colby Junior College in New London feature the program of the Pierian Sodality as announced by Malcolm H. Holmes '28 last night.
On December 4 the brass section will take part in the Brass Festival at Wellesley, playing Mr. Holmes' arrangements of the sixteenth century Tower Music, which he brought back from Europe.
