King Christian is the third ruler of the House of Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Glucksburg, to which House the Great Powers of Europe assigned the throne of Denmark on the death of the 16th King of the House of Oldenburg, Frederik VII, who died without issue. Died. Princess Helena Augusta Victoria, 77, aunt of King George V of England, and third daughter of Queen Victoria. She married (in 1866) Prince Christian of Schleswig-Holstein, who died in 1917.
