A Viennese art merchant who fled his country after the Nazi invasion, Kallir opened a gallery in New York in 1939 specializing in German and Austrian expressionism. He became best known, however, for presenting the works of Anna Mary Robertson Moses, the Hoosick Falls, N.Y., resident who did not start painting seriously until age 76.
