Yesterday's work included a long dummy scrimmage following a blackboard talk at which new plays were given out. Most of the new plays were of the straight running variety which Coach Horween has been emphasizing this fall. During the dummy scrimmage in which teams A and B opposed each other, the new plays were practiced, and numerous long passes were attempted. These worked much more successfully than at any preceding time this year...
...well qualified as this combination seems to be, it is little if any superior to the present team B backfield, T. F. Mason '30, S. L. Batchelder '31, and J. W. Potter '30. The possibility of Coach Horween's using these two sets of backs interchangeably seems to be strong. Such systems have been tried and often found successful, as for example in Yale's championship 1922 aggregation which employed as a rule one set of backs for each half.
