...Brazil, during his studies of a muscoid fly called Cephenemyia, the world's fastest aeronaut. Much like a bumblebee in size, color and form, Cephenemyia begins life as a larval parasite in the nasal passages or other head cavities of deer, cattle and other ruminants. To find suitable host animals and catch them and get into their noses and out again, the adult flies must range immense tracts of country at terrific speed. To the human eye, their passing is "of such incredible swiftness that one is utterly unable to initiate any movement whatever toward capture" before they vanish...
...Burmese Pwe; Hayden's opera-bouffe, The Apothecary; and Kuan Yin, a Chinese fantasy. They combine into one of the most graceful and thoroughly satisfactory entertainments that the town now boasts. The Burmese piece depicts the general good time to be had by all when a wealthy host gives a party. The Apothecary is light and whimsical, and the Chinese piece has bits of Russian and a dash of good old Broadway. Albert Carroll and the resident Neighborhood troupe are employed in the performance and give singularly good account. The entertainment provides probably the only musical evening in the city...

...dance was given last evening in the Elks' Ball Room on Lansdowne Street by members of the university humorous publication, the Blah. Among those present were Miss Annie Sweeney of Railroad Avenue who was becoming in a neat little outfit of salmon georgette whose host for the evenings' merriment was none other than Lalapunta's pride, Anthony Hogginswifter, president of the Blah. But with no discourtesy intended the choice of old Ant as the boys call him, we feeel it only just to say that the treasurer of the university's humorous publication had the pick of the town...
