...Columbia squad arrived last night and went directly to the Hotel Victoria. The crew will row this morning at 10 o'clock, and also this afternoon. This will be the first chance to get the order of the crew as it will race against Harvard, for it has been changed repeatedly in the last few days. ...days at Memorial it seems to me there was an enormous waste; the waiters used to bring us vast quantities of roast beef, for instance, from which we could select the tid-bits which suited our palates. Such waste of course would not be tolerated in a hotel. Economy at Memorial is greatly to be desired; I should think the Corporation might accomplish a great deal by keeping a large number of cows, sheep, pigs, and hens at the Bussey Institute, as well as growing all the necessary vegetables there; the teams which brought the produce to Memorial and Randall...

With no one to extend the ordinary civilities, many teams made their way as best they could from their way as best they could from their station to their hotel and Soldiers Field, and on their departure probably made most unfavorable comparisons between Harvard and other universities. ...York, April 13.--The Columbia crew squad, composed of the members of the university eight and substitutes, with the trainers, managers, and Coach James Rice, will arrive in Boston Thursday at 8 o'clock in the evening.
