...next game was played on Saturday at Fordham against the Fordham nine. This was a much closer game and was decidedly interesting. Bates pitched for the first four innings; three hits were made off him. Howe pitched the remaining four innings and three hits were made off him. Cobb caught throughout the game and held both pitchers well, but allowed a great many bases to be stolen. ...perfectly excusable. Two beautiful catches were made in the outfield by Corbett and Hallowell. What was most encouraging to note was Harvard's strong batting. Not a man struck out, while Frothingham and Upton each made a three base hit. Dickinson scored a very pretty home run.
