First inning.- Mason was out by first, unassisted. Linn hit safely past first. Dean hit to short-stop, who, with second and first base, made the double. Stagg hit to deep center-field for what looked like three bases; Howland got under it, however, and caught the ball, although he fell in the attempt. The catch, which was a wonderful one, was warmly applauded by Yale. Calhoun hit a liner to left which Mason muffed. He stole second and third and came in on McBride's single to right.
